Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate it alone. Whether you are feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, therapy can offer a space to better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful movement forward. My approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate—helping clients move through discomfort while building insight, confidence, and lasting change.

I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University and have worked in the mental health and substance use field since 2013. My experience spans community mental health, inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, family therapy, and support for individuals navigating severe mental health concerns, medical trauma, and life transitions.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, children, and families across a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, attachment-related challenges, relationship concerns, addiction, and family stress. I also provide support to family members and loved ones impacted by substance use and mental health concerns, helping them strengthen boundaries, improve communication, and navigate difficult dynamics.

My work is grounded in understanding how early experiences, relationships, and nervous system patterns shape the way we show up in our lives today. I integrate evidence-based and expressive approaches—including art therapy when appropriate—to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, healing, and connection. With children especially, expressive therapies can provide a safe and developmentally appropriate way to explore emotions and build coping skills.

I bring humor, creativity, and authenticity into the therapy space and believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel both supported and challenged. At the heart of my work is the belief that while our experiences shape us, they do not define us and that each person has the capacity to rewrite their story.

  • Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression alongside traditional talk therapy to help people explore emotions, process experiences, and increase self-awareness. You do not need to be artistic or have any art experience to benefit.

Sometimes thoughts and feelings are difficult to explain with words alone. Art can create another way to communicate, reflect, and understand experiences that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to access verbally.

    Art therapy can support:

    • Emotional expression and processing
    • Anxiety, stress, and nervous system regulation
    • Trauma recovery and processing difficult experiences
    • Depression and emotional overwhelm
    • Building self-esteem and identity
    • Improving coping skills and emotional regulation
    • Strengthening communication and insight
    • Exploring relationships and attachment patterns
    • Processing grief, life transitions, and loss
    • Supporting children and adolescents in developmentally appropriate ways

In sessions, art may be used in simple and approachable ways such as drawing, painting, collage, visual journaling, metaphor, or creative exploration. The focus is not on creating “good art”—it is about using the creative process to gain understanding, process emotions, and support healing.

Art therapy can be especially helpful for children, adolescents, and adults who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy, struggle to put feelings into words, or want to engage in therapy in a more experiential and creative way.

  • That all depends on your coverage. I do take several insurance plans and work with a billing company to ensure that insurance is verified prior to beginning services. Not all plans fully cover sessions and you would be required to pay any co-pays at the time of service.
